The Research Forum is one of the main convening events organized by the Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS). It is held once every two years in an Arab city and is a closed event for grantees and fellows only. In the past years, the ACSS organized research forums in Tunis (2014), Algiers (2016), Amman (2018), Beirut (2022) and Tunis (2024). Bringing together ACSS grantees, fellows, trustees and selection committee members, the Research Forum is:
An opportunity
for grantees to present, discuss, and receive feedback from their peers on their ongoing research. It is also an experience for participants to learn about vital issues related to academia such as writing and publishing, research ethics, career opportunities and so on.
A platform
for fellows and grantees to get to know other researchers in the region, thicken their networks, create new relationships, and increase dialogue.
A productive and safe space
for collaboration across countries of the region and across disciplines.Grantees also get to interact with members of the ACSS BoT and selection committees who serve as session chairs and discussants.
