Participants were drawn from the following ACSS programs: the Research Grants Program on Environmentalism, Impoverishment and Social Justice Movements, the Research Grants Program on Health and Livelihoods in the Arab Region: Wellbeing, Vulnerability and Conflict, the Early Careers Fellows Program, the New Paradigms Factory Program on Gendered Resistance, the Small Grants Program on the Initiatives on Ethical Dilemmas, the Research on the Arts Program in partnership with the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC), and the ACSS-FMSH Short-Term Mobility Fellowship Program in partnership with Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme.
In addition to the grantees’ research presentation and discussion sessions, the event included roundtables on Research Ethics in the Social Sciences in Turbulent Times, Health Policies and Social Science Research on Health in the Arab Region, and ways of involvement with the ACSS. On the sidelines of the event, ACSS and AFAC organized an exhibition displaying artistic material from selected projects funded by the Research on the Arts Program. Participants were also invited to participate in AMEWS/ACSS joint reception on the occasion of AMEWS conference.
