This publication titled “Gender Studies in the Arab Region: New Research Directions” consists of six papers, five of which are in English and one in Arabic. The publication uncovers research gaps in different topics within the interdisciplinary field of gender studies. It includes studies on the non-governmental organization phenomenon within women’s and gender studies in the Arab region; an introduction to feminist security studies; the status of research on gender, health, and displacement in the Arab region; women’s economic empowerment in the Middle East and North Africa, gender and higher education in Palestine; and gender and law in the Tunisian context.
