Dr. Abdellah Hammoudi is Professor Emeritus of Anthropology at Princeton University and is the founding director of the University’s Institute for the Transregional Study of the Contemporary Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia. Before Princeton University, he was a professor at Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco. Dr. Hammoudi wrote several book, including The Victim and its Masks, Master and Disciple, and A Season in Mecca. His publications have been translated into a large number of languages including Arabic, French, English, German, Italian and Russian and he won the international Lettres Ulysses Prize. He also edited several books in Arabic, French and English. Throughout his career, Dr. Hammoudi received numerous awards and fellowships including the Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton, the Institute for Advance Studies in Berlin, and the Rajni Kothari Chair in Democracy at the Center for the Study of Developing Societies in New Delhi.
