ACSS Conference Visual Identity Concept
Project Overview:
The Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS) is a regional, independent, non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening social science research and knowledge production in the Arab world.
The ACSS organizes a biennial conference that brings together researchers, academics, activists, students, journalists, policy-makers, grantees, fellows and trustees from the Arab region and different parts of the world. The conference features keynotes, panels, roundtables and other events that examine the issues related to the conference theme, which changes with each edition of the conference (every two years).

The Fourth ACSS Conference will take place on April 12-14, 2019. The ACSS is looking for a team of designers/agency to develop the concept and visual identity of the conference and its applications to the material needed for the event. At this point, we are only asking for a quotation. Selected team/agency will be asked to submit two concept proposals, one of which will be chosen for development.
Experience and Competencies:

Knowledge and understanding of the social sciences and the work of the ACSS.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant design experience, preferably in branding.

Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas.

Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality.

Proficiency in English and Arabic. French is a plus.

Detail-oriented and flexible with tight schedules.

Client-focused.
Requirement: The concept should reflect the identity of the ACSS Conference as a periodic, standalone event, as well as its changing theme with every edition.

How to Apply:
Interested candidates should send a cover letter explaining their interest in the project, a CV that clearly shows their portfolio, and a quotation for the project to admin@theacss.org. Complete applications must be sent by no later than November 5, 2018. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Applicants should be based in Lebanon.
Tentative Timeline:
November 5, 2018: Application deadline.
November 5, 2018 – November 16, 2018: Application review.
November 16, 2018 – November 27, 2018: Interviews with shortlisted applicants.
November 27, 2018 – December 28, 2018: Selected team/agency develops concept. This phase includes regular meetings with the ACSS.
January 2019: Present concept proposal to the ACSS Board of Trustees in Beirut, Lebanon.
January 2019 – March 2019: Make final revisions to the concept and produce material needed for the conference.
April 12-14, 2019: Fourth ACSS Conference takes place in Beirut, Lebanon.
