Arab Studies Journal Publishes Articles by ACSS New Paradigms Factory Fellows

06/08/2016
As part of a joint collaboration with the Arab Council for the Social Sciences, the Arab Studies Journal (ASJ) published, in its Spring 2016 issue, two articles by our New Paradigms Factory fellows in a special section under the same name of the fellowships program. The featured fellows are:

Ala’a Shehabi
"Inviolable Sheikhs and Radical Subjects: Bahrain’s Cyclical Sovereignty Crisis"

Imen Yacoubi
"Sovereignty from Below: State Feminism and Politics of Women against Women in Tunisia"

This special section in ASJ's Spring 2016 issue wraps up our joint collaboration with the journal, which started with a first special section under the same theme that was featured in the Fall 2015 issue of the journal

The Spring 2016 issue of ASJ explores the constrained conditions of everyday life in the Middle East, and the increasingly confined possibilities of producing knowledge on these conditions.

The New Paradigms Factory (NPF) Program at the ACSS aims at facilitating research and publishing by innovative, critical-thinking, and engaged junior Arab scholars and activists, particularly those facing limited access to mentoring and/or publishing venues.

The Arab Studies Journal is a peer-reviewed, independent, multi-disciplinary forum in the field of Arab and Middle Eastern studies. It is published by the Arab Studies Institute (ASI) and is affiliated with the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University.
