The Department of Humanities at Qatar University is seeking applicants for a position of Assistant / Associate professor in Philosophy.

The successful applicant will teach undergraduate philosophy courses as part of our recently launched philosophy minor, and participate in the development and maintenance of a vibrant, regionally relevant, and dual-language (Arabic and English) philosophy curriculum.    

 

S/he must be willing able to teach philosophy fluently in the Arabic language.  This is an absolute necessity.  Please do not apply if you do not meet this qualification. 
Ability to teach fluently in both Arabic and English is an added advantage.

The successful candidate should be willing and qualified to teach all of the 6 minor requirements, in addition to an elective of her/his choice within her/his area of speciality, in Arabic.  There will probably also be opportunities to teach English language courses as well, but Arabic language teaching will form the core duty for this position.
