The ACSS is pleased to announce the election of six members to its 12-member Board of Trustees. Three of those elected are new and three have been re-elected for a second term. According to the internal bylaws, elections are held every two years to replace 6 members whose terms have ended.
The electronic voting on March 9 and 10, 2023 resulted in the election of the following members (listed alphabetically):
Dr. Fadma Ait Mous – Al Hassan 2 University, Morocco
Dr. Abaher El-Sakka – Birzeit University, Palestine
Dr. Suad Joseph – University of California, Davis, USA
Dr. Dina Khoury – George Washington University, USA
Dr. Rima Majed – American University of Beirut, Lebanon
Dr. Mounir Saidani – Center for Economic and Social Studies and Research in Tunisia
Three new members were elected (listed alphabetically): Dr. Dina Khoury, Dr. Rima Majed, Dr. Mounir Saidani, and three were re-elected for a second term (listed alphabetically): Dr. Fadma Ait Mous, Dr. Abaher El-Sakka, Dr. Suad Joseph.
The new members replaced the three members whose term had ended (listed alphabetically): Dr. Munzoul Assal, Dr. Mohammed Bamyeh, Dr. Driss Maghraoui,
The ACSS welcomes the new members and wishes them success in their new roles and would like to thank the departing members for their invaluable efforts in enhancing the work and mission of the ACSS in the advancement of knowledge production in the social sciences and humanities across the Arab region.
