The Institute of Advanced Management Studies (HEM) in Morocco has planned a three-day seminar on "Critical and Decolonial Thought in North Africa" from July 6-8, 2022. Launched from Rabat in June 2021, the working group which organized this seminar comprises multidisciplinary authors, scholars and artists from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia dedicated to reframing the debate on decoloniality from a North African perspective. This first in-person seminar focused on the following topics: (1) History, memory, archives between research and creativity; (2) Living, non-living, human, non-human beings, and ecosystems; (3) Language, everydayness, technology and translation.
As part of its research activities in the humanities, the Arab Council for the Social Sciences (ACSS) has provided funding towards this seminar.
