Deadline: July 30, 2021
The Centre for Lebanese Studies (CLS) welcomes applications to its Visiting Fellowship at The Faculty of History, the University of Cambridge, for the 2021-2022 academic year. The Fellowship will be for two academic terms, and the successful candidate will start either in Michaelmas 2021 (October) or Lent 2022 (January).
Applicants should be scholars of Lebanon of postdoctoral standing or equivalent, currently based in the country and with a demonstrable track record of academic excellence. Current Ph.D. candidates are not eligible to apply. Applicants should currently be engaged in a research project in either the humanities or social sciences on a topic of relevance to modern Lebanon (nineteenth century to present day). It is expected that they will already have made some progress in their research before arriving in Cambridge and that they will use their time here primarily in preparing a research output. In addition, they must demonstrate sufficient command of English to take full advantage of and contribute to the academic life of the University of Cambridge.
