Enhancing Capacity-Grants/Fellowships

Awarding research funding as well as fellowships for advanced study are essential services that the ACSS provides, given the high unmet demand from both senior and junior researchers in the region. ACSS grants and fellowship programs generally emphasize inter-disciplinary and cross-regional research, as well as focus research funding around certain themes related to ACSS project initiatives. In the future, there may also be an emphasis on building up and enhancing certain disciplines that are relatively underdeveloped at Arab universities.

The ACSS also seeks partnerships and collaborations with existing fellowship and research programs whenever possible.

Review of proposals and applications and selection for grants and fellowships are undertaken by committees of regional scholars reflecting disciplinary, generational, geographical and gender diversity.
