The "Al Salon" discussion series, part of the "Exile and Revolutionary Movement" program curated by NAWARA.

Al Salon is a series of five discussion circles to be held in Berlin between November 2020 and February 2021 where scholars and activists, along with two guest speakers for each circle, will have the space to reflect critically and collectively on ten years of revolutions in the Arab region. 

These guest speakers include Khaled Fahmy, Yassin Al Haj Saleh, Naoual Belakhdar, Sara Abbas, Asef Bayat and Leyla Dakhli, among others.

Who can apply? Researchers, scholars and activists from or interested in the region, preferably who were involved in some capacity in the revolutions. 

We will be considering applications both for in-person participation for those based in Europe and for online participation as well. 

Travel expenses within Europe can be partially reimbursed under certain conditions.
